The Oxford&Cambridge Boat Race

As always the Boat Race created today a festival atmosphere on the banks of the river Thames.A good excuse to meet friends and go to the pub. Oxford won.

This evening at 8.30pm, hundreds of millions of people around the world will turn their lights off for one hour – WWF’s Earth Hour – to show global leaders that they want strong action to tackle climate change. Do it!

Eva Yerbabuena nos dejo anoche boquiabiertos con sus zapateos, sus braceos, sus contoneos y su movimiento de la bata de cola. Una pena  que, al estar tan lejos del escenario, su duende no me llegara a cautivar.

Estan de obras en mi acera, reponiendo losetas en mal estado, y alguien ha tenido la ocurrencia de "plantar" un narciso en el cemento fresco. Me ha hecho sonreir esta mañana de camino al trabajo, que no es poco!

Gran Torino

Ademas de sus gruñidos iniciales hay alguna otra cosa mas que me chirria pero no importa, el talento gana y salgo del cine tatareando la cancion que el propio Clint canta parcialmete en los creditos finales. Y como Boyero dice, pienso: no se muera nunca, señor Eastwood.

Vente a cenar conmigo

Ultimamente estan muy de actualidad en Londres los Supperclubs o Underground Dinner Parties aunque en Paris Jim Haynes lleva mas de 30 años invitando a extraños a cenar cada domingo. Estas cenas se hacen en casas de particulares que suelen ser chefs aficcionados o profesionales y los contactos entre anfitrion e invitados se hacen via internet. El coste se calcula, en algunos casos, para cubrir los gastos y en otros se sugiere una cantidad como donacion. En cualquier caso mucho mas barato que en un restaurante pero, dado que no es estrictamente legal, no siempre es facil dar con ellos. Sshhh...

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I was so captivated by this emotional fairy tale about time, life, love... that I didn‘t notice its nearly three hours running time. Beautifully filmed it brought back to me great memories of New Orleans. Late at night, when I was arriving home after the cinema, the Blythe House‘s clock transported me to the film again.

Naturalidad desbordante sin moralina. Escenas de gran autenticidad en las que el profesor trata de educar en forma de dialogo a sus conflictivos alumnos.Lo hace con calma y humor pero la insolencia de los adolescentes es inagotable. ¡Pufff...que desesperacion!
